Our advice was based on three strategic options: Selling off the closely held Architecture & Design firm to a PE firm, purchasing a niche environmental engineering & design firm, or horizontal integration via the acquisition of a larger A&D competitor. After addressing the firm's management goals and objectives for the next five years, my team and I valued each of the respective opportunities’ TEV as well as the combined TEV for the two M&A deals. The aproximate TEV valuation ranges were presented in football field charts broken down by DCF, Precedent Transactions, and Comparable Companies analysis having accounted for respective financial statement projections and synergies. We constructed a detailed pitchbook and appendix to be distributed to the BoD during a brief presentation where we discussed our qualitative and quantitative findings.
