Co-created TGCS's next generation Point of Sale / Point of Commerce solution. Worked as component lead of 10 people within a large project of over 100 people worldwide. As senior java developer, I wrote software and lead other developers who write API requests for the POS application. The architecture is modular for re-use with other TGCS applications and extensible by external business partners. I also supportted the UI component by developing widgets in dojo and javascript. As component / team lead, I co-designed features and provide team members with guidance and support on their tasks. Several members were located in other countries, requiring coordination across time zones.I served as technical instructor and trainer for new employees. As the team expanded, new employees were brought to RTP for a 2 week training course on how the system is designed, how it operates, and how to develop within the environment. I designed and lead the creation of technical training videos for the customer's developers to learn the internals of the project. This project consists of over 50 courses, each about 30 minutes.Technical skills utilized: Java, J2EE, API, apache-camel, spring, maven, linux, db2, dojo, CSS, HTML, XML, javascript, Eclipse, API, OBS, VSDC.

Designed and created software solutions for faculty, staff, and students. These projects automated complex processes and allowed the staff to focus more time resolving customer issues. Some of these projects included:* New Employee: This hybrid J2EE and C#/.Net application uses multiple databases (Banner, SQL Server, and MySQL) via JPA running on Glassfish. The web interface uses JSF / JSP with CSS and AJAX. New accounts are automatically created within an hour, rather than manually.* Add Student: Uses Visual Basic Script to interface with Active Directory (via LDAP), Banner SQL database, Pharos Printing System, and Live! Mail. This system decreased response time from three days to one hour.* Language Lab Time Tracker: I created this solution using J2EE, Java Server Faces (JSF / JSP), MySQL via JPA, Java Desktop with Persistence, and Glassfish. This solution replaced a 'sign-in sheet' that required manual processing at the end of the semester for each course and instructor.* Employee Deactivation: This small C#/.Net application interfaces with a Banner SQL database and Active Directory (via LDAP). Scheduling this task freed up high level support.* Employee Info: I wrote this Blackberry application using JME and JSON to communicate with an Apache servlet that interfaces with the Banner SQL database. This program reduced calls to HR for information.* Password Reset: This J2EE JSF / JSP application interfaces with the Banner SQL database and Active Directory (via LDAP) using a domain security certificate.
