My work as both an educator and designer comes from two primary goals:1) to integrate technology, arts, media, and culture into the design of innovative and powerful learning tools.2) Establish a new standard of civic leadership, duty, and responsibility within diverse communities.As a teacher, I've taught four years as a Social Studies educator in the Bronx and one year in Chelsea, merging game-based implementations with a data-based, project-oriented curriculum for the students. In the Bronx, I served as a 10th Grade Team Leader to coordinate our efforts and empower a wonderful cadre of fellow teachers. In Quest 2 Learn, I was given the opportunity to fill the roles of both game designer and teacher: creating lessons and games to promote student learning further.Within the realm of education, I've branched out to become a CCO and Co-Founder of Civic Games, a startup that blends learning with modes of play. I took the lead in concept design, vector illustrations, animations, marketing materials, and product design for our board games and digital games.Currently, I am a freelance game crafter and graphic designer.
