I am a Senior Mechanical Engineering student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. During my first year of college, I wanted to create an opportunity for engineers to explore the themed entertainment industry, and founded theme park engineering at Liberty University (TEA@LU). Since our formation in February 2021, we as multi-discipline engineers have learned the specifics of engineering in the themed entertainment industry, created rollercoaster designs following ASTM standards and realistic physics models, and competed in the 2022 TMU Thrill Design Invitational. We are now working on developing a fully-functional 3d Printed rollercoaster model as well as collaborating with Liberty Christian Academy to teach elementary-aged kids about theme park attraction design. In summer of 2022, I worked as an overnight ride technician at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Through this experience, I was able to gain practical, hands-on knowledge about the logistics and mechanical systems of world-class attractions. I was also able to practice in crucial problem-solving situations as well as working with a team of experienced mechanics.My most recent endeavor before returning to school has been in Orlando, Florida. I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Walt Disney World in two unique positions. I spent my fall semester with the Quality Engineering team, where I supported water parks and cruise line. I then extended with the company in the Ride and Show Mechanical Engineering department, where I conducted design and analysis to contribute to several attraction-related projects around property. Outside of school, I play electric guitar and play on the worship teams at Gospel Community Church and Lakeside Fellowship. I also enjoy rock climbing, paintball, gymnastics, and travelling worldwide.
