After my graduation from Southern Methodist University in December 2010, I was employed for 4 years by Butler Burgher Group (BBG) as an appraisal analyst working under one of the top producing appraisers in the firm. I accepted the position right out of college due to my intrigue in commercial real estate and considered it an excellent platform to increase my real estate knowledge as I had no previous experience in the business. I currently work as a Manager for Lowery Property Advisors (LPA), another appraisal firm in the San Antonio market. Throughout my tenure in the appraisal business, I have taken on a more advanced analyst roll which entails researching and confirming applicable comparable market data as well as interviewing market participants to compile pertinent data for specific markets so vitally necessary in the valuation process. Currently, I manage a team of three associates. A portion of my responsibilities are to support and assist my associates as well as review all of their work product. I have worked on the valuation of numerous types of assets, across many different property types from vacant land to multi-tenant CBD office buildings to proposed developments, industrial facilities, self-storage properties, car washes, hotels/motels as well as the typical retail and office products. Another one of my functions is to communicate between clients, landlords and internal personnel as far as appraisal timing and requesting applicable property data from the involved principals. I greatly enjoy the commercial real estate market and look forward to growing my career as a real estate professional!!
