I created and was head of the music program from grades K-12 at Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, South Dakota.I created engaging multi-disciplined lessons incorporating art, history, language, science and math with the music lessons; taught individual and groups on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums and DJ'ing.Organized a talent show and end of semester concerts for the school and community.Organized monthly trips to the state orchestra in Sioux Falls for students who excelled and showed interests in music. After the concert I arranged for students to meet and talk with willing performers from the orchestra at a coffee shop near the concert hall.

Ran three campuses and monitored the community culture in each. Following closely the different teaching styles, behavior management protocols, disciplinary actions, and preferred delivery methods of each administrator at their respected campuses. Delivered a curriculum that was focused more on experiencing rather than writing as complaints about the previous music teacher was that they were too analytical. I took the communities complaints into consideration and tried to create lessons that were growing new skills, fostering skills already learned while playing instruments as much as possible. I taught students from 2 years old to 12 years old. The younger students had more game based learning were the focus was having fun and building skills useful for being in school and away from parents. Skills such as listening to adults, respecting other students, using equipment properly and having fun. Older students worked on more abstract skills like historical and cultural influences on musical trends, technological breakthroughs that altered instrument innovation and composing.

Unfortunately my time here was cut short due to health conditions brought on by the geographical circumstances that are unique to the specific area at the time of my employment. Many of my students were on individualized lesson plans as they had some specific academic detractor that required specialized attention in one or more areas of curriculum delivery. This required each lesson to be presented in a multitude of ways, using traditional pen and paper, laptops with apps and technology and physical activity.My lessons included but were not limited to: guitar skills, keyboard skills, singing skills, listening and interpreting, composing, reflecting and performing.I mentored a few male students on practices of Stoicism and weight lifting and a healthy diet.

The majority of my students scored 6's on the IB DP Music exam and the rest scored 5 with nothing lower. Created engaging lessons through Microsoft Power Point, utilizing current internet memes and jokes, imported sound and video, surveys and tests. Helped students after hours with performance practice, ensemble practice for special events, essays and guitar tech setup.Taught a luthier class to the engineering students to build ukuleles from scratch as part of their final assessment. Repaired students' and teachers' guitars.

Started the music program in two campuses. Met with administrators and finance officers to secure the necessary resources for the desired programs to be offered. I went out to the city into different venders to secure deals and negotiate prices and quantities.Ran an after school class once a week for students on individual lesson plans who were struggling with behavior management where we actively listened to thematic and imaginative music, then drew, colored or painted a reflection of thoughts and internalized images. I noticed marked improvement in the majority of students involved.

Ran a tactile science class for lower elementary students. We built different toys based on different physical properties like magnet rollers, rubber band airplanes and pneumatic toys with medical syringes. Delivered lessons to work on long term project goals, short term goals, large scale reports and quick worksheets.On the weekends I took some lessons and tools to teach English to North Korean refugees.
