Hello! My name is Jordan Garner, and I am a goal-driven Communication Studies Graduate Student at Texas State University. All my life I have grown up in Dallas, TX where there were always these big city lights, but I currently reside in San Marcos where you really get to experience the beauty of life in a whole new perspective. Growing up I have always been passionate about being a part of a deeper cause. Over this past year and a half, I have had the opportunity to design and create events that have impacted a few lives, and honestly that is part of my motivation to continue to work hard and do things for others. The opportunities that I have been presented with have made me a better leader, an out of the box thinker, and just a more inclusive person overall. I am constantly looking for new things to learn or different strategies to pursue, and I believe that is a very major part when going into any phase of your life, and the Public Relations world is no different. Now I am working towards obtaining my degree at Texas State and am expected to graduate in the year of 2025. Here at Texas State, I am involved with a department on campus named New Student Orientation, where I have participated in diversity, equity, and inclusivity trainings; intensive summer and spring trainings; summer new student orientation sessions; and more. Being a part of this department has given me the opportunity to be receptive, dedicated, detail-oriented, and accountable.
