Allied Vehicles Group is the UK’s leading manufacturer of converted vehicles. It supplies wheelchair accessible vehicles to Motability clients and custom-built taxis to the taxi industry.As the IT Process manager, I lead a team of process development officers and apprentices. My primary objectives are to analyse business processes against current software solutions to identify improvements and development opportunities. This involved integrating data from multiple sources, developing analytical reports for department heads and advising on new solutions. I am also responsible for the setup, maintenance and running of the various ERP systems used by key operations throughout the company.. An ITIL based helpdesk was used to record and track issues reported by users and my team consistently delivered solutions within the set SLAs. I also ensured that the ERP systems were GDPR compliant by reviewing the various processes.Based on the current and future IT requirements of the company, I ensured that my team had the necessary skill sets. This involved having regular team meetings and the creation of a professional development pathway. The company standard was to carry out bi-annual appraisals, I exceeded this expectation by carrying out monthly 1-2-1’s, as my team were my priority.

Trading under the well established names of Belmont, Murray Motor Company and John Martin Accident Repair Centres (JMARC) the John Martin Group has 10 car dealerships and 2 Accident Repair Centres spanning the length and breadth of Scotland.As a systems consultant I am responsible for the maintenance and running of the Dealer Management System (Kerridge). It is a comprehensive framework that integrates with all aspects of the business. The system provides interfaces for point of sale for service/parts, accounts, vehicle/parts stock, showroom enquiries, body shop estimating and CRM. I have to monitor the daily backups and investigate or correct any issues identified.I am the lead in the IT Helpdesk Support team which supports over 500 users who are based either locally or remotely. This involves dealing with support requests (software and hardware) over the phone, e-mail or through the online helpdesk software. I am tasked with the deployment of equipment to users, setup of network printers and the supply of consumables.I also administrate the web proxy and quarantine system for the company. I am also tasked with Software Asset Management and administrative duties within Active Directory.

I was responsible for reconciling branch specific bank accounts to ensure that they balanced. Any discrepancies would have to investigated and resolved. I would count and deposit any large cash payments collected from the showrooms.My main responsibilities involved the verification and authorisation of invoices in the purchase ledger to ensure that they are passed to the correct nominal ledger code. I also matched and verified payments from credit/debit cards, cheques, banker drafts or cash against the sales ledger invoices. Any discrepancies in postings to the nominal ledger had to be identified and corrected via journals.

I was responsible for travelling to the various branches and collecting the branch’s daily cash intake. The amount collected varied from £3000 to £5000 and had to be deposited at the bank. I reviewed and verified the invoices in the purchase ledger to ensure that they are passed to the correct nominal ledge codes. In addition, I had to match payments from credit/debit cards, cheques, banker drafts or cash against sales ledger invoices.
