My responsibilities in my role consist of routine monitoring of plant equipment to maintain optimum safety, reliability and cost effective operations. Plant preparation for start-up, shutdown and isolations up to a set standard for general maintenance adhering to a strict permit to work system. I also have Mechanical and instrument flexibility performing maintenance by operations tasks as I am Lokring and Swagelok Trained. In addition to this I am also part of the First Line Fire Team, which involves annual fire training courses and to be first on site at any incidents. Continuing my apprenticeship, I moved on to BP Chemicals Site at Saltend Hull as a Process Operations Technician. During my time on site I completed a City & Guilds Level 3 in Process Technology (0603) certificate and an NVQ Level 3 in chemical, pharmaceutical and petro-chemical operations. I also won a Tallow Chandlers Award Certificate of excellence. On site I then continued working towards learning the process of the A4 CO plant. Throughout my time at HETA I gained valuable knowledge and experience in many aspects of industry, such as electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, machining, welding and cutting as well as the value of the Health and Safety whilst working on a Manufacturing Plant. During this time I completed an NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations as well as a VRQ Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology.
