I have been working for the Chehalis tribe for the past four years. I began my career as a child care aide and have worked my way up to lead teacher of my own classroom. I accomplished this through my dedication to showing up every day and striving to continue my education through school and on the job training. I value progress and desire to stay on this career path, contributing to the growth of children and the community. My ability to manage time and projects, as well as coordinate between groups of managers and teams is evident with the success of my students as well as the comradery between my coworkers and me. My work history will demonstrate my reliability and how I excel in working closely with others, using effective communication strategies and problem-solving. In the classroom, I delegate tasks to an aide to ensure efficacy of the room schedule, and manage children’s behaviors while caring for their education and well-being. I spend most of my free time outside of work and my own schooling volunteering at local theaters. I have worked on many shows, including children's theater, so I can no doubt balance the work of knowing my cues as well as the children I am in charge of, while keeping them safe around set pieces and technical equipment. Theater is a team effort and cannot be successful without substantial contribution to group tasks, taking direction, and be willing to jump into another area at a moment's notice.I am currently in school, about to finish my degree in Interdisciplinary studies, which has allowed me to explore several different disciplines regarding human nature and child development; skills that are invaluable to any work experience. I have chosen to minor in family science as well, which has only enriched my experience working with families in my current position. I intend on graduating this fall, but until then, I will be actively working on classes specific to early childhood development and the family unit.
