While attending St. Thomas School of Law, I served as a Student Certified Attorney at the Anoka County Public Defender's Office. I met with and represented clients for bail hearings. Additionally, I am in my second year of Moot Court at St. Thomas. Last year, our team made playoffs for the New York Bar Moot Court Competition Regionals. Our hope this year is to make it even further!While attending Carthage College, I was able to excel in multiple extracurricular activities, including Student Government, Model United Nations, and Mock Trial. In Student Government, I represented the Carthage College Model United Nations club as its voice in the senate. While I held the position, I was also placed on the Student Government Budget and Finance Committee where I assisted in the daunting task of balancing, approving, recommending change, and reviewing all 120 club budget requests we received.In Model United Nations, I received multiple awards across several domestic and international conferences. These include the Best Delegate Award (AMUN - Chicago, 2016), Best Overall Delegation (AMUN - Chicago, 2016), Best Overall Delegation (AMUN - Chicago, 2015), and Third Place Delegate (MONUA - Bogota, Colombia, 2016). Additionally, I served on the Executive Board of the Model United Nations club for the 2016-17 academic year.In Mock Trial, I played the role of an attorney in both prosecution and defense alongside a team of absolutely no returning Mockers. Being new myself, we fought a steep uphill battle up until our valiant defeat in the Regional Mock Trial Tournament for our area. While participating, I frequently outscored many returning attorneys, receiving 9s and 10s out of 10 more often than not. I also served as the Treasurer of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity on campus as well as the Judicial Chair of the Phi Kappa Sigma Internation Fraternity, Gamma Gamma Chapter. Since graduating, I have assisted my mother and sister in the purchasing and management of Sweets and Sundries, a candy store in my home city of Belvidere.
