Having started off as the sole Student Ministry Pastor for Willow Creek’s Huntley campus, I helped to successfully onboard a full-time Junior High Pastor in June of 2021, effectively making my role more high school-specific. After working closely together with my counterpart for the better part of a year, my time at Willow Huntley came to an end due to a church-wide 30% staffing reduction, and my counterpart became my successor.

As the church's first full-time youth pastor, it was my job to redevelop and expand ministry structures in order to shepherd students toward Christian maturity. This included, among other things, thrice-weekly teaching responsibilities, volunteer recruitment and development, and relationship building with students as well as parents. I also had my first several official experiences with teaching for an entire congregation at Sunday services during my last year on staff.

Responsible for training and leading a team to accomplish a massive, 100-hour-plus administrative project that involves managing data and rooming requests for 1500-2000 people, accommodating special requests, and a good deal of problem-solving all throughout the process.

Part of a new resident internship program at Chapelstreet Church (formerly known as First Baptist Church of Geneva). Responsibilities included curriculum development, small group leadership, teaching, and administration.

Helped to establish one of the first NSP chapters in Chicagoland at Trinity International University and managed public relations through digital photography and social media.

Paradise, Michigan

Two consecutive (and formative) summers living and working at Camp Paradise for 1-2 months at a time. Responsibilities included cleaning and maintaining the camp, improving camper experience, and operating the rock wall and high ropes course.
