I foster relationships with employer and community partners to provide career and learning opportunities for students to put their creative skills in motion. I build pathways for art and design students to launch their career through experiential learning opportunities, career coaching, skill building through curriculum and connection opportunities. I work with all academic departments to align career development and curriculum goals, and I leverage our network of employer, community, alumni and college partners on collaborative professional projects.Career development exists inside the classroom, in the community, and far from campus. Our office builds curricular and experiential learning vehicles that help students explore skill areas, gain a depth of skill development, and experience activating their expertise. This means building programs, curriculum, assessments, gathering consensus, strategic planning, managing projects and people with responsibilities in all parts of the cycle: Ideation, scoping, budgeting, contracting, documenting and storytelling. As a storyteller, our team helps students share their achievements and expertise with the world, inform prospective students and employer partners about the impact of creative skills and design, and demonstrate the expertise of our faculty, the emerging talent in our students, and the ingenuity of our campus partners.

Teaching two courses at the college that take students beyond their curiosity by investigating, researching, interviewing and producing podcast stories about topics they have always wondered about. Students learn how to use storytelling to share ideas, spread awareness, or persuade an audience in an engaging and entertaining way. One class introduces students to storytelling through podcasts and helps them identify and grow their storytelling persona. The other class brings students together to collaborate on a collective, broader story and teaches students the value of producing, collaboration and building a series or broader listening experience. This course also challenges the producing team to engage in new ways to distribute podcast programming including as parts of film, location-based experiences or installations. Featured partnerships and projects; U.S. Veterans Administration (2020): Capturing veteran stories about their life before, during and after services with an emphasis on their military experience and their creative artistic endeavors. This podcast collaborated with the Veterans Arts Initiative, which is a program that aims to facilitate mental wellness, increase social connectiveness, and create a supportive community to form positive connections with the VA. Podcast stories were packaged into animated shorts in a documentary that premiered at the National Veterans Film Festival.Ohio Department of Higher Education [ODHE] (2020) - Producing partner for a podcast series called "Changing Campus Culture" which seeks to inform students and their families about sexual violence in college. As the faculty advisor, advised the student managers of WMHB 89.7FM - a community radio station housed on the campus of Colby College. Helped students grow the station from primarily music-format to include more public affairs, news, talk and entertainment. Helped management craft an underwriting strategy, organize financial needs, organizational goals, and create structure for consistent news and public affairs programming. Ensured station was FCC compliant.

Brought my employer relations and counseling skills together in a role evenly split between cultivating recruiting relationships and preparing students for careers. By growing attendance significantly for on-campus employer sessions and off-campus "on the road" events, I was able to create an atmosphere of career exploration more accessible to students with results more useful to the office. By understanding student engagement behaviors and career interests, I could build recruiting relationships and events to serve a broader population of the student body. I also managed student internship funding and credit procedures, lead workshops, coached students, liaised with other departments on campus and built "on the road" events in Boston, New York and Toronto.

Managed the recruiting calendar and atmosphere at one of the nations top liberal arts institutions as Assistant Director of Employer Relations. This meant not only securing employer participation, but also student engagement for employer info sessions, on-campus interviewing, off-campus networking events and excursion trips. Also managed office-wide marketing and publicity for events through social media, print, newsletter, videos and other mediums. Heavy attention to database accessibility and management ensured students had fluid access to the most immediate opportunities.

Through organizing job fairs, networking events, employer site visits, case competitions and other employer-and-student engagements on campus and in various cities (Pittsburgh, Boston, New York City, Washington DC, Seattle, and San Francisco), prepared graduate students at the H. John Heinz III College for cutting edge management roles in the arts, non-profit, government and NGO sectors. This also included one-on-one advising, leading workshops and building an online "Career Academy" workshop series for incoming students. I also managed office-wide marketing, social media and website management. Unpaid internships were made accessible through the "Internship Opportunity Fund" a student-led fundraising group that I advised.

A graduate assistantship during my master's studies that couldn't have been crafted better: A full emersion in to all elements of career development working at a cutting-edge, innovative graduate school. Assisted with all Heinz College career services activities and events. Spearheaded certain initiatives like "Career Academy", an online program for students to sharpen their job search skills. Organized networking events and job fairs. Managed career fairs and networking events. Provided resume coaching to students. Organized student fundraising efforts for internship financial support.

Athens Video Works - a student-run production house producing studio, film-style, and live productions.2007-2008: Oversaw organization-wide marketing efforts to promote shows, recruit members, and grow productions.Beyond marketing, oversaw reformation of club charter, spearheaded effort to make live, out-of-studio productions happen (something the club currently does regularly), and reviewed show pitches, programming (when programs run and how frequently).2008-2009: Consulted on creation of Tech Heads television series, in-studio multi-camera talk show on technology and innovation.2008-2009: Floor director, studio logistics for Friday's Live, a live-to-tape, multi-camera studio sketch comedy show.
