For the last fifteen years I have invested my passion for making things in varied strategies for cultivating meaning. This has had outlets in residential design and construction, large scale installation of sculpture as well as more modestly scaled work. I am interested in institutions and structures that have outlived their original intent if not also their useful life. My thesis research at the Rhode Island School of Design investigated the origins of the modern penitentiary, as well as current design and sentencing practices in prisons. What began as an act of compassion at the time of the American and French Revolutions has become a blight on our cultural landscape today. There are alternatives. I recently moved to Chicago to be an Artist in Residence at Theaster Gates Studios.I have work in two public collections, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Garth Clark and Mark DelVecchio Collection, and the Everhart Museum, Scranton, PA.
