Leadership. 

Leadership is the one thing that fuels my soul with energy. I perform at my highest when I’m faced with complex challenges and the responsibility to help the team achieve its goals. Here are a few important buckets that frame up how I think about leadership. OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE Quality for me is non-negotiable. Every business has a "right" and "wrong" way to execute its mission. Through my experience working with startups and early-stage companies, I've gained a wealth of experience in understanding how operational excellence impacts the bottom line. CULTURE & INCLUSIONBob Marley was once asked in an interview, “do you have to have dreadlocks to be a Rasta?” He calmly grabbed one of his locks and affirmed to the reporter, “this is my identity.” I carry that same ethos. When you know who you are, you know what your path is. My sense of culture starts with my personal identity (who I am in my own skin). I lead teams with that same expectation. I have found that when a group of people can be themselves at work, the abundance of performance results start to flow with effortless ease. Inclusion starts with acknowledging individuality and its role in bringing value to a team environment. EXTREME OWNERSHIPThis is where I have worked to master the “threading of the needle” in complex environments. In the matrix organizations, I’ve been a part of, it has been necessary for me to embody an extreme ownership mindset in order to drive impact/results. This mindset doesn’t mean that I solve every problem. It means that I see a project through to completion and ensure my business partners are set up for success. The ball must never be dropped; someone must always remain accountable and informed with clear cut action items. At the core, I am an operationally minded leader with an internal compass for empathy and inclusion. I believe that these elements I’ve listed above are the “separator” from being just “good” to being “great.”
