The harvest, elaboration and marketing of wine from centenarian vineyards of an autochthonous grape variety named "Juan Garcia", planted in the year 1910, in the medieval village named Fermoselle and registered in the viticulture plot records of the province of Zamora, Spain. It is a unique grape variety, which survived the phylloxera plague sheltered in the terraces planted along the skirts of mountainous terrain alongside Arribes del Duero River Canyon. The GARRIDO family surname, through different branches of the family, has been immersed in the village of Fermoselle in the labor of viticulture as local market wine grape growers and wine makers for a time surpassing 375 years to this remote and ancient medieval village, located on the border between Spain and Portugal, situated in the province of Zamora in the region of Castile & León. This generational heritage is documented through the continuity of a long lineage of original birth certificates, found filed in the municipality archives of the village of Fermoselle, a locality dating more than 2,000 years in history, yet, miraculously preserved throughout the ages to present date. The GARRIDO family surname before some of its members immigrated to Cuba, in 1907, descends from Fermoselle dating back prior to the fifteenth century. One-hundred and twenty-one years after the birth of his Grandfather in Fermoselle, Jorge Garrido went back to "The Earth" (English), "El Terruño" (Spanish), "The Terroir" (French) that gave birth to the GARRIDO name in viticulture in Fermoselle, Spain. Jorge Garrido is guided by his passion and dream to the reclamation of his GARRIDO family surname´s long heritage in the labor of viticulture and to apply his marketing knowledge and business acumen to brand his family’s surname long-standing tradition in Fermoselle´s local viticulture with a new wine product entry into the world wine market.
