I've been a bus driver for SFMTA for the last 3 years, a designer and installer for a balloon company before that, and a gig worker before that. Through my myriad of jobs, I have been a problem solver, a lover of learning, an innovator, and, in culmination of the aforementioned, an artist. As an artist I look at the world around me, at others, and at myself to find the untold and profound understandings to create my representation of the human experience. The artist's job is to observe, to feel, to recall, to synthesize, and to create these understandings. And, that final piece, the creation, receives the most notoriety because it's the product that's seen, felt, recalled by others, however, the process before creation, from observation to synthesizing, is actually the most important.Though my friends and family throughout my life would say I'm a great creator, capable at most things I try, and a fast learner, I would say I'm a dillegent and focused observer, an empathetic and open feeler, a deep and vibrant recaller, and a stylized and creative synthesizer.I'm excited to transition into UX Design because it's the career I've been searching for my whole life. A career where design, research, empathy, technical skills, and personal skills all support the endeavor of problem solving to create seamless and intuitive experiences for people. As an intern or Junior Designer, I look forward to supporting UX Designers who are focused on research and inclusive design, making friends and becoming part of a team, practicing and learning UX methodologies, becoming more fluent with Figma, Adobe Suite and with communication and planning tools, and building a coding foundation to better understand software development.
