Joining Our Watch as their Grant Accountant enables me to put my financial skills to practice in an organisation with values aligned to my own: Collaboration, optimistic, creative, authentic and inclusive. I am entering a phase in my career where I am eager to give back and contribute to making the world a better place. Working with not-for-profit organizations provides the perfect avenue for me to fulfill this aspiration.Throughout my professional journey, I have predominantly worked in small businesses, where my roles have demanded hands-on management of the accounting process through to the preparation of year-end financial statements. In addition to overseeing day-to-day financial operations, I have provided crucial financial support for various projects. Assisting in budgeting and providing financial expertise during the project completion phase. My proficiency as a Certified Xero Practitioner, honed over 12 years, reflects my adeptness in utilizing Xero and my ability to generate relevant reports and analyses. I possess a keen curiosity and an aptitude for swiftly adapting to new technologies, constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance existing processes.Furthermore, my role as Company Secretary of two not for profit entities and Chair of another has developed my communication skills. I am adept at preparing board papers that lucidly articulate complex information, providing the necessary background and rationale to empower the board in making well-informed decisions.
