Within the R&D team of Optics11 I analyze the sensor data and contribute to improvements in the data processing pipeline and software. Low-level processing of the optical signal improves the accuracy and precision of the measured physical quantities, such as acoustic pressure. Higher level processing provides our customers with functional data such as position of acoustic sources under water or areas in a transformer that needs maintainance because of defects.

I developed a experience with hardware and optic design through developing and building an optical coherence tomography setup including a custom spectrometer. In my interdisciplinary PhD project I worked in close collaboration with plant biologists. This interdisciplinary collaboration taught me to understand the demands of end-users and ensure that my work is relevant for them.I defended my thesis 'Microscopic 3D plant imaging with high-resolution optical coherence tomography' on 6 December 2023. As lecturer I taught and organized calculus based physics for university bachelor students (first and second years). My students were engineering majors and all part of the international class, one third were indeed international student and the others were Chinese.
