CasaVersa is a start-up company creating the ultimate home exchange community. I was responsible for the social media community management - using Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest etc to grow our following and users. I also created the CasaVersa blog from scratch - www.casaversa.com/blog. While at CasaVersa, I trained over 5 interns in social media management.

I worked as a project manager in a small team in the European Grants and Incentives department, assisting scientists in research institutes and private organisations in developing projects for European Commission funding. I managed projects from their inception, finding and securing consortium partners and managing the grant proposal writing process. This involved writing and editing of 100 page proposals, and a high degree of project management expertise, as each project has over 10 partners from across Europe.

I worked with the divisional management team of CSIRO Sustainable Ecosystems coordinating strategic and operational planning, managing projects and events, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The management team was responsible for over 500 staff members in 16 locations across Australia. I analysed scientific, financial and human resource data, researched and wrote scoping documents and background papers for the executive management team, and provided advice and guidance on strategic communication.

I worked in a small team to help scientists communicate their research through the media, internet, and other mechanisms to the general public, funding agencies, policy makers and politicians. I developed and implemented communication plans for the environmental science projects; wrote media releases, web pages, briefs to government ministers and magazine articles; and liaised with journalists.

I communicated science to families through e-newsletters, information posters, hands-on activities, exhibits, web pages and science shows. I trained staff to present science shows and activities. I also sourced and coordinated visiting exhibitions, including logistics and producing supporting materials, activities and events.

I worked in a small team to produce over 140 festival events during science week that reached over 100,000 people across Australia. This included: developing and managing science forums, exhibits, and workshops; coordinating national tours for international scientists; generating ideas for science events to suit audiences and sponsors needs; and gaining sponsorship and managing relationships.
