I established consulting services to private companies developing, validating and introducing new technologies for cancer diagnosis and treatment. Some of the work with private companies includes:1) US National Cancer Institute• Currently I am a consultant for the US National Cancer Institute in the implementation of multi-country research studies for the field validation of a new software for automatic pattern recognition (AVE system) for early detection of cervical pre-cancer lesions.• Building of a decision-making process for health workers using the results of the AVE to select women in need for immediate ablative treatment.2) World Health Organization (WHO)• Currently I am doing consultancies for WHO on implementation research for their cervical cancer elimination initiative. The WHO strategy considers HPV vaccination and HPV screening as the cornerstones for rapid cervical cancer elimination. This work involve the development of the critical implementation research questions that any country will face at the time of planning and launching population-based screening and treatment programs for cervical cancer control.• As a global leader in cervical cancer, I coordinated with an international group of experts on the review of the different implementation strategies, challenges national health systems will encounter when incorporating cervical cancer prevention activities in their current programs, the critical indicators countries need to consider for tracking the achievement of elimination goals, etc.3) Global Good (Bellevue, WA) / QuantuMDx (United Kingdom):• I lead the clinical study for validation of a new molecular test for oncogenic human papilloma virus (HPV)• I provide advice on introduction of the new test in markets in developing countries.• I provide guidance on the process for approval of the new test into the pre-qualification system at the World Health Organization.

• I am a consultant for C/Can, a new initiative launched by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in 2017 to support the improvement of cancer diagnosis and treatment in cities with at least one million inhabitants.• I led the negotiation with multiple stakeholders at the national and city level to obtain the commitment from the Ministry of Health, City Government, private sector, local pharmaceutical representatives members of Access Accelerated, private clinics and insurance companies. • As a clinician expert in cancer care, I worked with experts from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) to design the training on multidisciplinary cancer management for doctors in the selected cities.• Cities included in this program are Yangon (Myanmar), Tbilisi (Georgia), Porto Alegre (Brazil), Cali (Colombia), Asuncion (Paraguay), Kumasi (Ghana) and Kigali (Rwanda). • As a result of this work, now cities have, or are in the process to have:o A plan for improving access to diagnosis and treatment. o Updated guidelines for management of cancer patients.o Updated list of essential medicines for cancer treatment.

• I led a team of 30 people in USA and developing countries dedicated to strategic planning for developing, validating and launching innovative technologies for detection and treatment of women’s cancers.• I stablished strategic partnerships with private companies in USA:o Qiagen Inc (Germantown, MD, USA): - I led the partnership with Qiagen for the development of careHPV, a new test for HPV detection.- I led the multi-country team for clinical validation of the new test.- I led the generation of clinical data used for the WHO pre-qualification of the new test. The final approval for pe-qualification was obtained in 2018.- I presented in international venues presenting the results of the clinical studies supporting the value of the new technology.- I led the negotiation with several governments for introduction of the new test into their national programs. As a result of this work, careHPV is currently in the national programs of Peru and other Latin American countries.- I negotiated the introduction of the new test into the procurement platforms of United Nation agencies. Currently the test is available in the global procurement system through the PAHO system.o Liger Medical (Salt Lake City, USA)- I provided clinical expertise for the design of a new medical device for treatment of cervical pre-cancer lesion.- I led the validation of the new technology in Central America and Africa.- Now the medical device is commercialized in several continents. I led advocacy efforts to create more awareness on women’s cancers and increase investments countries and private companies. Several countries in Latin America has increased their investment on women’s cancers. I fostered regional and global collaboration with United Nations agencies to streamline support across struggling, under-resourced communities in India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya, Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras.

• I led the collaboration with other scientist from NCI in the clinical evaluation of infection with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and progression to cervical pre-cancer and cancer. • I led a group of experts of the NIH/ASCCP Research Group, that included 20 US gynecologists, for evaluating and improving the diagnostic of cervical pre-cancer and cancer using colposcopy. As a result of that work we had a better understanding of the visual appearance of high grade cervical lesions and cancer,. Multiple scientific publications resulted from this work.• I built and led a group of approximately 20 doctors and engineers to develop a digital-based automatic visual evaluation of the uterine cervix. As a result of that work, NCI is currently developing a clinical study for validation of the new software, which could be used in a cellular phone.

Lima Province, Peru

• I was trained as gynecologic oncologist in this institute and continue working there until I was invited by the US Cancer Institute to do research in United States.• In the cancer institute in Peru I was in charge of evaluating patients with suspicious or confirmed diagnosis of cancer. My clinical practice included performing surgical and medical treatment of gynecological cancers.• I collaborated with the ministry of health of Peru in the design of programs for cancer control.• I led the validation of new technologies to be introduced in the country; specifically I led the validation of cryotherapy, which was later included in the national program of the country.
