Parties involved in an incident have not been that situation before and this requires clearly explaining the process, coverage, timeline and answering any questions the insured other third party has. Consistent communication skills are need to keep coherence within the claims process so that all affected parties know what to expect. Empathy is also required throughout the process so that parties involved know they are speaking with a concerned person to help them resolve their claim. Intra-departmental communication within AAA is crucial and many departments depend on the adjuster's attention to detail and the information we gathered to assist payment, collections process, and submitting underwriting reviews. Throughout the claims process it is also my duty to assist the insured with acquiring other products or services that would assist them in the future. I then determine the customers needs and guide them to Sales, Policy Management, or Underwriting to assist them with new or updated services they want or require. Analytical skills are important to evaluate various evidences, accuracy of estimates, and to determine what occurred when there is a dispute between parties. This includes taking and evaluating statements given by different parties, various evidences presented, and estimates for property damage. It is then critical to take all the information taken from the adjusters claims investigative process to determine what is a covered incident and who is the responsible party. Knowledge about Texas insurance regulations and as well as company policy is critical. This involves answering questions and complying with all regulations in a timely manner to all parties in order to resolve the claim. Show less
