I have been working in the Robotic Systems Business Unit at the Fraunhofer IFF since February 2000 and have been involved in various publicly and privately funded projects in various roles since then. I began as a project engineer, building my skills in the areas of mechatronics, mechanical design, control system analysis, systems integration, and later project management. Projects I worked on and/or coordinated range from inspection and cleaning service robots, laboratory automation, sensor development, mobile manipulation, and safe human-robot collaboration in industrial operations. Since 2010 I have been increasingly active for the Business Unit at the European level and have worked on and coordinated FP 7 projects (including the VALERI project). I have also been an active and contributing member of the euRobotics aisbl, involved in roadmapping activities within the SPARC Programme. In 2014 I was elected to serve as the Coordinator of the euRobotics Topic Group "Industrial Robots" and in 2017 was elected to the euRobotics Board of Directors.
