Jose Camacho is a driven Environmental Engineering Student at Florida Atlantic University and an advocate for environmental projects and initiatives. He is currently a research assistant for the College of Urban Planning focusing on "Adaptation and mitigation climate models for the resilience or urban areas". Jose has received numerous awards and recognitions for academic excellence in the field of engineering as well as for outstanding leadership and social involvement in the fields of sustainability and climate leadership. Some of these include induction into the prestigious Tau Beta Pi engineering society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the White House Presidential Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement, the NAIA 4.0GPA Recognition, Blue and White Ribbon for Perfect 4.0GPA, Golden Ribbon for Outstanding Academic Achievement, as well as several scholarships for academic excellence.Jose is the founder and current president of the FAU Sustainability Club, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues, and implementing sustainable solutions in the Florida Atlantic community and beyond.In the engineering field, Jose has proved proficiency in programs such as Matlab and Solidworks, and has not only achieved A's on all his engineering classes, but has also tutored in subjects such as Strength of Materials and Statics.
