As the lead developer on the SAS team, we produce a series of Dashboards that are consumed by various users throughout the district. We use SAS Enterprise Data Miner to predict if a student will be proficient and if they will earn a gain according to the rules set out by the FLDOE as it relates to school grades. We then take these predictions and use them in a dashboard that predicts what the school’s grade will be at the end of the year. This data is then delivered via a stored process, to the end-user at a student level so that schools can make targeted interventions for each student.We also use the FLDOE process of Pattern Scoring to score our district exams in order to determine a Scale Score and Achievement level for each student, then use this data for monitor progress.We also developed a High School Graduation Tracker, a Middle School Promotion Tracker, and an Early Warning System. I am very proud of the work that we have been able to accomplish in such a short time. The work is ongoing and impactful, in fact, the HS Grad Rate has steadily increased in every school since its implementation. I am a SAS Certified Programmer.

As the Director of Research, my duties included coordinating all departments of the school system in order to produce an External Dashboard that would include data from testing, demographics, graduation rates, promotion rates, finance, discipline and teacher, parent, and student survey data for the District as a whole, as well as for each Board Member region, each Assistant Superintend at region and each school. This process uses SQL, SAS, java, and HTML. You can view the current dashboard at the Duval Website. I was also responsible for automating the process of sending out survey data to all principals. To do this, I used SAS.

As the Project Leader for the installation of our new database system, Infinite Campus, my responsibilities included coordinating with district personnel and the vendor in order to transfer 20 years of data into our new system, while ensuring functionality and consistency of its use.After implementation, I became the SIS Supervisor with the responsibility to integrate all systems into our new SIS. My team was responsible for all State Reporting, Error Reporting, Parent Portal, and all other data requests that came to us from the School Board, Principals, Teachers and outside parties.

As an Assistant Principal my duties included making sure that as a school, we complied with the rules and regulations as outlined by the school board. With a student body of over 1200 students, my duties also included ensuring compliance of School Board Policy as it relates to Student Conduct and the Deans Office. I also gave leadership to the Custodial Staff, Building Mechanic and Cafeteria Staff.

While working as a Dean, it was my responsibility to communicate with parents, teachers, and administration to ensure that the school is effectively producing positive changes in behavior so that every student has an atmosphere where learning can take place. I was also privileged to give leadership to the Student-Athletes of the Basketball team.

It was my pleasure to motivate students into becoming life-long mathematics learners. As the Mathematics Department Chair, I bridge the gap between faculty and administration. I also served as the Assistant Athletic Director with the main responsibility to ensure that all students met the guidelines of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA).
