During my internship I assisted the Economic Affairs team with: - preparing and organizing missions such as the Global Climate Action Summit with State Secretary Van Veldhoven and 50+ companies, the Social Capital Markets Conference, the Pop-Up Consulate in Los Angeles and the mission of State Secretary Keijzer to San Francisco. - Conducting research to find possible opportunities for Dutch entrepreneurs in the US and also creating a thorough economic, cultural and political profile of the 13 Western States with emphasis on focus areas such as Los Angeles, Denver and Phoenix. - Helping Dutch start-ups to scale internationally by using American examples - Connecting Dutch and American entrepreneurs to form mutual beneficial partnerships- Providing assistance in expansion possibilities, such as trading, export and legal advice

The Leiden Research Group exists of students in International and Intercultural Management at Leiden University. We offer companies expertise on current issues they are dealing with, for example in marketing, economic, political or cultural issues. During the summer of 2016, I have been in Moscow with two other students for a month to conduct market research for a European company which wants to position itself well in the Russian market.
