- Technical system and product lead of a medical device instrument for donor screening. Responsible for driving the product’s life-cycle: development (HW & SW) backlog and budget, roll-out timeliness, launch execution, on-market support and SW versions obsolescence.- Act as project manager for coordinating cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, RA, Technical Support, MKTG and Labelling), managing operational and strategic issues, in order to ensure that releases are developed and commercially available in scope, time and budget.- Gathers, refines, analyses and prioritizes requirements from existing and potential customers across all markets and identifies portfolio gaps.- Responsible for overall consistency and preparation of DHF & release-oriented QMS documentation.- Manages B2B relationships with external manufacturers.

Responsible for coordinating the development of both new manufacturing technologies and In Process Controls, which involved co-leading and managing externalised engineering projects (from proof-of-concept to validation stages) and defining, revising and writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Parallelly, I was also focused on diagnosing and resolving QIAstat-Dx product issues that arise from both internal and external customers, including, but not limited to, production, customer complaints, and technical development. This involved carrying out multi-disciplinary root cause analysis (“connecting the dots” across disciplines) to provide key feedback to the investigations team.

I was awarded a multidisciplinary 2-month fellowship (“Organoids-on-a-chip for detecting and understanding biofilm formation in polymicrobial cystic fibrosis infections” ) to tailor lab-on-a-chip devices to co-culture human organoids with pathogenic bacteria.

I established a small research team through an independently awarded 2-year fellowship (“Technologies to unravel the interaction pathways of bacterial communities”) to develop an on-chip photonic-based spectroscopy technique to probe bacterial communication. As the Principal Investigator, I lead the laboratory research activities and managed the team, coaching and mentoring junior researchers.

I was awarded a 4-month fellowship (“Boosting the sensitivity of optical biosensors for small molecule detection) to conceptualise and develop a label-free surface-based amplification technique for in-vitro diagnostics photonic detection.

As a shared researcher between the Physics, Electronic Engineering and Biology departments, we developed novel resonant based photonic and electrochemical biosensors for biomedical science and healthcare. During my time in these projects, and building on my PhD, I became an expert in Si photonic device nanofabrication and in label-free bioassay development and optimisation.
