My role as Head Mechanical Engineering includes the following; Provide leadership and supervision for the Engineering and Draughting Team;Undertaking continuous product improvement including research and development of new products; Attend client meetings and establish a design brief, including concepts, cost models and performance criteria.;Develop ideas and concepts and evaluate different options from concepts from both internal (manufacturing) and external (client) perspectives ensuring cost effectiveness at all times;Lead detailed engineering design directing both internal, and where required, external engineering resources;Produce manufacturing specifications for internal and external provider;Oversee production of General Arrangement, detailed manufacturing drawings and OEM manualsRegularly report and communicate with project stakeholders regarding project progress.Producing, collating and arranging engineering calculations and information;Provide direction for the departments resources by prioritising workload;Assign appropriate internal or external resources to each project so that project schedules are maintained;.Ensure quality requirements for projects are met and that appropriate QA documentation is compiled for statutory and client required purposes;.Mentor engineers and draughtsmen.

Employed as a Project Engineer, responsible for projects from initial concepts through to commissioning. Working on projects in the recycling, quarrying, heavy machinery and transport industries. Duties include performing site surveys, producing proposal drawings, developing initial concepts, mechanical designs, preparation of sourcing equipment and procurement, technical specifications, liaising with Electrical and Civil disciplines, in-house departments, clients and outside contractors/consultants. Working in conjunction with other project and site engineers I am also involved in mechanical design, project planning, controlling project finance, and instructing contractors on site, CE marking, CDM and other health and safety documentation.
