About Joseph Arico
Currently, I hold degrees in Biology and Anthropology with a minor in Neuroscience. For the past five years I have been gaining clinical experience as a Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy Aide at Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital. In the spring of 2021, I had the pleasure of interning with the head physician for Team USA Triathlon and Ithaca College, Dr. Andrew Getzin, whose office is in Ithaca, NY. In the fall of 2023 I gained experience as an Emergency Department Scribe at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. Teamwork is critical to achieve a high level of patient care and my experience as a collegiate athlete has reinforced the importance of working collaboratively. Football has been a part of my life for more than a decade, and beyond teamwork, this sport has taught me resiliency, adaptability and how to think and react quickly.I am currently applying to medical schools. I am interested in any shadowing opportunities, part-time or full-time positions in health care that can diversify my experiences in providing care.
