- Led a team of scientists to conduct experiments on the DIII-D nuclear fusion test reactor- Designed and executed experiments testing the high heat flux plasma modification of divertor materials- Created a data analysis model that can deconvolve transient heat fluxes from steady heat fluxes in order to facilitate the study of time-resolved plasma induced erosion at the atomic scale- Designed hardware for high heat flux materials tests in the DIII-D divertor- Conducted the first experiments of ultra-fine grained tungsten in a fusion environment, testing atomic hydrogen migration/retention, neutron damage resilience, and heat flux surface modification - Collaborated with an international team of scientists by assisting in experiments requiring the data acquisition and analysis of the Langmuir probe and thermocouple arrays in the DIII-D test reactor

- Created an innovative diffusion model for simulating atomic migration in plasma exposed materials to evaluate and predict deuterium retention after isotope exchange and neutron displacement damage - Designed plasma-material interaction experiments in high flux steady-state plasma devices, implementing a vast array of diagnostics and data analysis techniques

Created a computational model of the Scrape Off Layer (SOL) in tokamak plasmas.
