Acquisition Business Specialist
CurrentProvides advisement on acquisition strategies for various types of contracts while advising senior leadership and functional area technical experts based on the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFARS) and the other applicable regulations and policies. Advise AAL on all matters pertaining to contracting policies, terms, procedures, and expectations. Applies a broad knowledge of acquisition and contracting to identify and resolve problems in the assigned area. Manage responsible program areas, working with senior personnel, and maintaining an efficient flow of operations to meet mission requirements. Expert analytical ability and skill is used extensively in completing daily duties. Work involves preparing, coordinating, and providing guidance and training in the interpretation and application of procurement laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Provide both advisory and analytical services. Advisory services include developing acquisition strategies, providing alternative courses of action and contract vehicles, assisting in the creation and coordination of the Acquisition Requirements Package (ARP)and monitoring its progress through contract award. Analytical services include conducting research, analyzing data, providing insight and oversight of contract portfolios and procurement operations. Duties include serving as a liaison between the requiring activity technical point(s) of contact and procurement stakeholders such as the contracting activity, legal office, and higher headquarters to monitor and resolve issues.
