I was responsible developing new instruments and techniques resulting in 12 procedure improving instruments brought to market and the launch of the Efficient CP protocol in 2012. I was the Moderator for the Surgeon Advisory Group from 2009 through 2012. I filled in as Sales Manager when needed always exceeding all sales goals. As the Director of Clinical Operations, I was responsible for all daily clinical operational plans, clinical decisions and the management of all Clinical Specialist.

I trained Ophthalmologist in the surgical use of Refractive, Glaucoma, and Cataract products marketed by STAAR Surgical. I worked with the Ophthalmologist and Clinical Staff in developing a Comprehensive Care Plan both surgically and medically in order to reach a desired outcome for the patient. I was the only Clinical Specialist in a team of seven responsible for training on all of the products offered by STAAR including the VISIAN ICL, all IOL’s as well as the installation of the STAAR Sonicwave Phaco unit, and STAAR Cruise Control, I filled in as a Regional Business Manager in vacated territories always keeping outcomes above projected income levels.

I assisted in ophthalmic surgery with contracted Ophthalmologist and Facilities across the US. I trained and mentored; monitored and evaluated Mobile Technicians performances nationwide. I coordinated new accounts, in-services, reviews and first surgery days by analyzing scheduling viability between Surgeons, Technicians and Equipment. I was required to operate within budget constraints while continually updating equipment. I developed the first “tier level pricing plan” in the company.

I was responsible for the procurement and maintenance of supplies, instruments and equipment for the Surgical Services Division. I managed an inventory in excess of $6 million and an operating budget of $2 million and served as the Vendor Liaison for CRH and all Surgeons. I supervised three employees and served as a Certified Surgical Technologist in all Service Lines. I prepared all Capital Equipment Value Analyst Requests and quantified those request to the Board of Directors. I was responsible for a “sole vendor” contract resulting in a three year $1.5 million savings. I reduced the operating budget by 60%, on hand inventory by $280,000 and lost revenue by $70,000.

I served as the Program Director and Instructor for the US Army Surgical Technologist training program from 1992 through 1993. As the Floor Supervisor of a nine room Operating Suite performing 500 surgical episodes per month, I was responsible for an inventory of $4 million. I supervised 20 O.R. personnel and was responsible for their professional development as well as a CMS that had 7 personnel supplying the O.R. and 14 clinics. I was the Laser Safety Officer for the hospital. I prepared all CEEP and MEDCASE capital equipment request and verified them in upper echelon budget meetings. I introduced an Inventory Standardization program as well as the Total Quality Management program emphasizing less waste and better operating efficiency.
