Responsibilities:As production manager I am responsible for leading my team to deliver quality product to the customer as safely and efficiently as possible in order to align production with company goals and strategy. I must do so in an ethical manner while adhering to the Company's values. I challenge my supervisory staff to always think outside the box, never accept complacency, and continuously improve in order to exceed expectations and promote profitability. Job duties include the following: •Directly supervises all production and shipping supervisors with respect to production volume, cost and quality of production and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.•Trains, coaches and evaluates supervisory and hourly personnel, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity,•Monitors and ensures efficient utilization of equipment and facilities, including housekeeping.•Confers with Plant Manager in establishing working schedules for all production departments.•Responsible for creating a safe working environment, ensuing implementation of plant safety policies, procedures and programs and adhering to requirement under EPA, DOT, OSHA, and flammability standards.•Assures adherence to standard operating practices/methods•Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with hourly workforce. •Adheres to budgetary limitations on all departments including maintenance supplies.•Recommends equipment and/or layout changes, production methods or material handling procedures•Recommends purchase of new capital equipment.•Administers Collective Bargaining Agreement•Fills in for Plant Manager/Asst. Plant Manager on all factory-related responsibilities in his/her absence.•Assists other factories as needed.
