I recently held a position of Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Oracle Corporation, developing robotic data storage libraries. I have 33 years of experience in the field. I have been awarded 43 US patents with several pending. My experience has given me insight to solve simple and very complex mechanical design problems. I have successfully carried several products from conception to full production. I have worked with and visited suppliers and manufactures both domestic and overseas. I have worked on robotic data tape storage libraries most of my career, but have also worked in the consumer electronics and Oil well stimulation (aka fracking) industries. I pride myself on finding cost effective and robust solutions to complex mechanical problems. I can create complete designs, including detail documentation, using CADsoftware. I am currently proficient in PTC CREO and Solidworks 2001. I have produced prototypesusing current 3d printing technology, off the shelf components, local machine shops and occasionallymachining my own parts. I have been told by my superiors and colleges that I have a natural gift tovisualize 3 dimensional problems and implement them into practical use.
