Managing the sustainability of the nuclear sector supply chain by ensuring suppliers are compliant to legislative and corporate requirements whilst assessing and improving supplier security arrangements. Managing a project to improve communications with the supply chain by meeting identified gaps through the development and introduction of new IT systems. This required facilitating close cooperation between the Ministry of Defence, internal employees and supply chain organisations. The project also involved negotiations with and presentations to leaders of suppliers.Development and implementation of a management strategy on EU REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of CHemicals) legislation to understand the supply chain’s risk profile and determining the best approach for the business. Resultant decisions then set the standard for requirements from other legislative needs, such as conflict minerals and ABC (Anti-Bribery and Corruption).Other key responsibilities included engineering and other functional liaison, lean adoption and improvement activities across both internal processes and in the external supply chain.

I planned production to meet the delivery plan for the engine build line in Germany whilst liaising with key stakeholders.Being the Material Resource Planning Controller for legacy and defence engine combustor components which included reducing factory cell arrears by more than £250K and overseeing £1.32m of sales.Being the project manager for Structures and Transmissions procurement on the Trent 7000 engine programme. Developing a new visual management engine programme management tool which was rolled out across the wider business.Completing a Lean Six Sigma “Green Belt” Project in the Rolls-Royce submarines business in which a project was completed to deliver significant savings, reducing concessions on the target component by over 50%.Taking on a Capability Acquisition position as a project leader during the machining trials phase of a newly developed material and assisting with numerous other business projects including arranging factory machine moves.Representing the company externally at trade fairs, conferences and other significant events. Including giving speeches to large audiences and leading education outreach events.Engaging with VIPs on their visits to Rolls-Royce business areas, including the CEO, head of Ofsted, former Chancellor of the Exchequer and other members of parliament. Also acted as the point of contact and tour organiser for China Eastern Airlines Executives visiting Rolls-Royce in the UK.
