Joseph enjoys turning data into value and bringing people together to achieve shared objectives. In service to the FDIC, Joseph is a quantitative modeling specialist and is involved in a variety of international regulatory forums, including working groups for the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS). He brings extensive quantitative modeling expertise from Ernst & Young where he managed multiple teams while serving a variety of financial institutions. Joseph is also an entrepreneur. He grew up serving up serving his family business which he grow into his own company in college. Joseph continues to support entrepreneurs, startups, and creative artists in his personal capacity.Technical specialties include advanced prediction modeling techniques, automated data intelligence, machine learning tools, cloud data infrastructure platform solutions, mobile applications such as Flutter, and advanced data science packages for Python.Joseph also brings experience serving FinTech firms and startups specializing in the areas of peer-to-peer (P2P) loan underwriters, models and systems for automating mortgage loan applications, artificial intelligence (AI) applications for portfolio risk management, and blockchain technologies applied to the finance industry including Ethereum decentralized Application (dApp) smart-contracts for trustless derivatives, instant settlement of international payments, and micro-insurance.--Joseph and his wife Dr. Lihong McPhail enjoy writing papers together, helping connect ambitious college students with working professionals, sharing their family blog, and programming in Python with their two daughters.
