Contracted program analyst/manager for the AUKUS trilateral partnership, seeing Australia, the UK, and US proactively share a wealth of mutual defense expertise & materiel, with the goal of a free and open Indo-Pacific. My role is to manage submarine supplier qualification in Australia, establishing new programs, & international business relationships, and setting engineering precedent for the future of the 75-year AUKUS schedule.

Contracted mechanical engineer for a division of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. I assisted in managing a robotics & autonomy program by providing key input to programmatic decisions with our technology developers, observing field tests of our robotic systems, and networking among other DoD program managers and engineers to establish a path forward for DoD R&D that keeps in step with the President's Defense Planning Guidance.

Lead mechanical engineer for enclosure design and in-house fabrication. Designed ruggedized enclosures for circuit card assemblies that are exposed to extreme environmental hazards. -Worked often with Solidworks and Solidworks Simulation, often saw designs through to production in 3D printer, CNC mill or CNC lathe- Gave design recommendations to superiors regarding high-budget projects for a variety of customers and researched commercial off the shelf (COTS) products to fulfill design requirements- Wore many hats: design engineer, fabrication engineer, systems engineer, integration specialist, customer service liaison

• Worked in a lab space with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of interns and mentors, rapid-prototyping micro-USVs (Unmanned Surface Vehicles) to operate autonomously in swarm formation to attack an enemy warship• Gained a wealth of knowledge in mechanical and mechatronic design through educated trial-and-error testing on a tight deadline schedule, documenting every outcome• Results: I reduced the boat’s weight by 20%, reduced manufacturing time by 30 minutes, increased listing control, eliminated radio telemetry interference, and decreased max temperature inside electronics unit by 10 degrees C

• I worked closely with an engineering mentor to design and fabricate a submerged fishing robot• Robot designed to entrap lionfish, an invasive species in the north coastal Gulf of Mexico, providing a solution to a serious environmental problem• Designed and fabricated an underwater lighting rig & heat sink and to ensure visibility at depth while keeping the rig’s temperature low

• Mechanically designed and fabricated a miniature, cost-efficient version of another lab robot called RHex (Robot Hexapod) that can be constructed from scratch using 3-D printed and laser cut parts• Due to its small and cheap design, MiniRHex can be used for lab outreach events to reach potential robotics & engineering students
