Haba Play School
Anyang, Gyeonggi-Do, Korea
I taught children from the age of 4-9 years old Korean age. There are many activities that I participated in with the children. Outside of the normal teaching from books (such as Superkids, Backpack, Magic/English time) I was also required to play many typed of games with children in which I had to explain the rules to varying levels of students. I also taught a weekly science lesson to our 6 and 7 year old classes, which I planned on my own. In addition to science, I would teach a cooking class as well with 5 year old children. Usually this would consist of a very easy to make snack, such as kimbap, sandwiches and parfaits. Also, we would have a weekly “Song & Rhyme” class in which I would pick songs and play them on my guitar while teaching the children the words and melody. We would have monthly birthday parties which teachers took turns hosting. I hosted the party three times myself. We were required to come up with games and activities that ranged from 30 minutes to an hour. We were also required to wear a costume while leading this party. I was also required to help children learn dances for each birthday party that I was not hosting. When we took field trips (on average, twice monthly) I was also required to attend and help supervise the children as well. Daily I help serve one class it's lunch and eat with them as well.Skills Used: Teaching, Classroom management, Music, Dance, Creative Thinking, Research
