I am currently a security officer at the 'Palace of Westminster', there are many roles here and I hold various internal qualifications. My roles include looking after high value individuals and the general public. Working in a team or on my own to insure the security of Parliament by undertaking people and vehicle searches, whilst keeping a high level of professionalism as I am the face of the company to the people I encounter. No day is the same and every day various situations arise that need you to be able to think on your feet. You have to have a high level of curiosity as part of my role is internal and external patrols, so if something is out of place or does not look normal I have to investigate it. I am a first aide trained and there has been many occasions where I have had to administer first aid. I have worked closely with my manager with view to promotion.

My roles here were very similar to working at Parliament, I undertook advanced vehicle and people searches, I.E.D. detection and first response. I also worked briefly as a supervisor before moving onto Parliament.

I was employed here as a chef, was trained up and after a few months the head chef left. I took his position. I really enjoyed working there as I love to cook and the high pressure work and constant demand kept me extremely busy, I could also put my creative side into my food, constantly trying out new dishes on staff and guests.
