I spent six years as a history, English, and ACT prep course teacher in Milwaukee, WI. I have been a nurse for seven years after completing an accelerated BSN program. My nursing career has included a number of department and hospital-wide projects. I brought in the Medtronic Stealth and O-Arm system for spine, ENT, and brain procedures at Elmbrook hospital, which included training in Denver, Colorado as an equipment superuser and overseeing training for surgical and radiology staff, all within my first year of nursing. I implemented Vocera as a superuser and initial trainer at the Milwaukee VA surgery department, achieving the highest usage rate for the new system and fewest errors of any department within the first two weeks of implementation. I also created an OR onboarding program for Ascension Wisconsin, which included training nurses from 26 different sites across the state in didactic and hands-on learning over a four day course. The course served as a model for national implementation for Ascension hospitals.My skills include project planning and management, change leadership, data aggregation, analysis, and presentations, Cerner training, EPIC training, CPRS/VISTA training, and staff education planning and implementation.
