I am Chiropractor that has a background in elite sport performance. My aim is to serve people to the best of my ability. Through finding my passion as a future Chiropractor, I have been able to blend my enthusiasm for learning and exploring literature, my curiosity for human biology and my calling to help others. I strive to be evidence based, but will always put the patient at the centre of care. Whilst studying I have been leading a health and fitness team, developing clients bases and contributing to the development of a CPD pathway for young Personal trainers. I am a highly reflective person and is in constant evaluation of areas in which I can improve, whether that is through my communication and leadership to my hands on treatment. Reading has been a great source of development, allowing me to deal with personalities I may clash with using "Surrounded by Idiots: The Four Types of Human Behaviour" by Thomas Erikson giving me the tools into why these friction points may occur and where I can implement strategies to overcome these mishaps, or reading Brene Brown's "Dare to Lead" showing me how vulnerability and openness is powerful way to lead and build trust.When evaluating my journey I realised the two proudest moments share a few things in common. Focus, Discipline and Failure. The first moment would be achieving an A in Math A Level, as prior to this I was told I would not be able to achieve this, I spent hours at my desk failing problems, making mistakes and feeling hopeless. However, 24 months later, opening that envelop to show my hard work paid off gave me a satisfaction that was more rewarding than I'd Imagined. Fast Forward to summer 2020 where I have received my third year results in chiropractic college and I have won the award for best academic profile for my cohort. Whilst this award was a reflection of my hard work and commitment to the course, it meant something much more. It was confirmation that I was in the right calling, it gave me the reassurance that this vocation is not only something I highly passionate about I am pretty good at it (for a student). The failure that led me to this award is different from my previous story as it relates to my failure in my previous profession, the failure of finding a calling I love. Taking the gamble to go to university again, to spend my life savings on myself with no real guarantee on finding what I am meant to do, was scary. This award represents a whole lot more than just doing well in exams, but a reminder to myself what I can achieve when I fully commit.
