Daily copy editing and proofreading both news and advertising copy to overseeing the layout and content of the entire newspaper as Managing Editor. Worked with all other departments to ensure a quality final product was produced. Oversaw a staff of five reporters and managed the Newsroom budget. Worked for four years, two as Project Manager for our annual Progress Edition, a 100-plus page marketing supplement that brings in roughly $300,000 of advertising revenue. This is three-month project each year reached all parts of our community, highlighting my writing, photojournalism, copy editing, layout and design and strong verbal communication skills to bring the businesses in our town to life in the paper. Shot my own photography, covered governmental meetings and breaking news.Oversaw a staff of five reporters and managed the Newsroom budget.Used Photoshop, Quark Express, Illustrator, various word processors, document scanning software and put it all together for a daily product.
