As second chair on defense team that succeeded in defeating wrongful discharge, tortious interference, and Bivens claims against Fannie Mae by a former consultant, Joe defended the depositions of Fannie Mae’s 30(b)(6) representatives and former CEO, handled depositions of damages experts, and managed team of 20 attorneys conducting a complex e-discovery production.- Proposed USDA Rule, 81 FR 49112. Drafted voluminous comments for client in opposition to this proposed rule that would have devastated the regulated industry if it became final.

As lead counsel for plaintiff in this suit recover overpaid taxes, Joe's efforts, especially those to organize and present client’s voluminous records clearly to support its claims led to a favorable $5.4MM settlement.- So. New Eng. Tel. Co. v. Global NAPS, D. Conn. As an integral member of the defendant's legal team, Joe succeeded in reducing defendant’s exposure to damages by millions of dollars by coming up with argument, which the court credited, that plaintiff’s tariff should be interpreted so the interest rate on overdue payments owed by defendant was 10%, not the 24% rate plaintiff was seeking.- Jacobs Vehicle Sys v. Pac. Diesel Brake, D. Conn. As a member plaintiff's legal team in this patent case, Joe drafted a motion for summary judgment and prepared witnesses to testify at month long trial. Judgment was granted for plaintiff and affirmed on appeal.- In re Enron Secs. Litig., S.D. Tex. Joe was lauded by the client, a large investment bank, for his supervision of a team of fifteen attorneys tasked with producing the client’s documents and analyzing other parties’ documents in support of the client’s defense.
