Spectra-Mat Inc.:Production Supervisor- As the supervisor of the Machine Shop, I work with the Planning department to determine the order of what jobs to run. I was also tasked with learning how to work with the machines and materials to have a better understanding of how to improve the workflow and processes. Another critical task was to cross train all employees on multiple pieces of equipment to allow for coverage when needed. Since I have started, I’ve been about to find better tooling options for machining the materials that we work with thus cutting down the training time needed to show new employees how to make the tools we were using. I’ve also be able to improve the time it normally takes to train an employee by removing and standardizing processes, removing clutter, updating and adding labeling and making a more general location for employees to find tooling and equipment needed to complete their task.Safety Committee- I was asked to be a member of the safety committee at Spectra-Mat Inc. soon after starting in 2019. In the meetings we discuss how to promote safe working practices, improve processes, update equipment, hold meeting on safety company wide and schedule certification trainings for employees.Supervisor of Final Machining- I was first asked if I could help the Final Machine Department by helping with the workload. I was quick to improve run times of the tasks that I was being given. Once I gained a better understanding of what needed to be done, I again went to work on trying to improve some of the processes. I was then given the opportunity to supervise and work with the machinist in Final Machining and try to support them the best I could. I’ve been able to find tooling that doesn’t need to be modified before running the parts. That’s helped use save time on set ups and training of new machinist. With the help of the team, we’ve also be able to cross train employees from the Machining Shop to help run certain parts as needed.

Plethora:Senior Machinist- I was responsible for setting up and running the work orders as they were given to me. I would receive the work order, tooling needed for the job and material and set the job up on either a five axis or three axis milling machining. I would work with the programmer to ensure the program was running as needed to make the part to print. Other duties included helping operators set up and run their machines as needed.

Tobar Industries:Shop Supervisor- Worked with our quoting department to schedule jobs for the shop. Work with my team of machinist to insure we get orders in and out of the shop in a timely manner. Quoter for CNC Mill Work- I quoted machining times and materials needed for all new incoming jobs. I also requoted older job to improve and update the machining times and changed material sizes if needed. Lead Programmer- I programmed all new jobs coming into the shop. My goal was to run the parts as efficiently as possible with the tools and equipment that I had available to me. I also went back over older jobs to try and improve run times either by changing the order of operations, feeds and speeds or changing tools that were previously selected to make the part.Set-up Machinist- Job duties where to pull work orders in order by date in run jobs to completion. I was to gather materials and cut to required size. Set up the CNC mill with the work holding or fixturing needed, load all tools needed to run the job and load the program into the machine. Working with the programmer I would give feedback when needed to get the parts made to the print in a timely manner.

Fox Racing Shox: CNC Mill Tech- I was trained to set up CNC Mill. Duties where to load programs into the CNC milling machine, add the tooling needed to complete the job and to add the fixturing/work hold needed to run the job. CNC Operator- CNC mill and lathe operator. Learned how to make tools and work offsets. Diagnose problems when the part wasn’t coming out to spec. Change out worn out and broken tools and touch them off to the required offset.
