In essence, I receive an audio file of anywhere up to 120 minutes in length and submit a written transcription of it within the requested time frame, which varies from a few days to a week. I have transcribed files in both English and French, as well as translating French audio into an English transcription.No matter the file type, an incredible attention to detail and a commitment to often tight deadlines are crucial to submitting quality work. I was asked to run the Management Desk for a small and dynamic recruitment agency specialising in the Construction Industry. My role included managing relationships with both clients and candidates as well as finding new ones. As a result of staff changes, I was also asked to act as Account Manager for the company’s second biggest client.As a recruitment consultant, my client related duties included: understanding clients’ projects and preferences so I could anticipate their recruitment needs, finding and putting forward candidates in line with clients’ ongoing requirements, building relationships and maintaining contact to find out about upcoming recruitment needs as soon as possible, taking detailed and comprehensive job briefs, checking in regularly to monitor the detailed progress of managers currently out working, negotiating fees and salaries, writing and posting job adverts, checking advert responses and preparing candidate shortlists for clients, organising and/or conducting interviews, providing background checks including referencing and qualifications and right to work, referencing candidates and fact checking claims on CVs, working with clients to establish ideal candidate profiles including using psychometric testing (McQuaig), playing a lead role in client-candidate discussions and negotiations, preparing client contracts and keeping them updated, verifying hours worked by candidates with relevant senior managers, vetting prospective new clients by checking their credit history.In this fast paced environment, time management and task prioritising were absolutely essential.
