Consultant Engineer in the electricity and power networks industry at EA Technology.My role involves performing forensic and mechanical materials testing, failure investigations and condition assessments of a range of different electrical and structural assets and assembling the findings into technical reports. This encompasses both optical and scanning electron microscopy, as well as EDX elemental analysis.At EA Technology I initiated my journey as a junior developer, and have contributed to software deployed on EA products, and software offered as a service to customers to enable automated high-voltage quote generation. Within these agile development projects, I primarily used C# and .NET, with the solutions hosted on Azure. I also collected basic experience using HTML and CSS to create user forms, and using SQL and SQL Server for large volume data analysis and manipulation. I have experience in writing VBA scripts to manipulate and portray data in an accessible format in Excel.I gained a First Class master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering as a graduate from the University of Sheffield, winning the Lewis Chapman award for outstanding performance in metallurgy.My final year project covered the effect of varied thermomechanical processing schedules on the microstructure and properties of superalloys.
