A member of the global and cloud virtualization engineering team. We provide documentation and technical guidance to the operation staff supporting VMware infrastructure within CSC. My role is concentrated on automation utilizing low-cost tools including PowerCLI and vCenter Orchestrator. Assisted in creating and managing a lab environment with the entire suite of VMware applications. This environment provided resources for CSC services to be developed in.Extensive use of VMware vCenter Orchestrator: Developed workflows to automate the installation of Microsoft and vSphere components. Reversed engineered the necessary methods to develop EsxCli for vCenter Orchestrator. Created workflows to assist operations staff with the management of vSphere; presented to CSC's VMware Champions the benefits and usage of vCenter Orchestrator. Automated the installation for Puppet Labs Razor and provided an interface to deploy hosts. Contributed to the development of the VMware View service, specifically vSphere related best-practices and recommendations.Performed evaluation Hitachi UCP Director Pro; leveraged RESTful APIs and vCenter Orchestrator to further automate the deployment of the infrastructure.
