As Senior Vice President of Product and Operations at SmartBrief, I led a 35-person team to identify and deliver new products to an organization dominated by a single product line. Through customer and strategic partner analyses, and by working effectively with other departments within the company, the team delivered a half-dozen new products/services over a 4-year period that now account for 47% of the company’s revenue.

This entailed creating financial models and opportunity development processes that could be scaled for Fortune 500 companies. I personally led this effort with three multi-billion dollar companies, working directly with their Executive Vice Presidents responsible for strategic planning.

As CEO of TeleManager Technologies, a pharmacy automation SaaS vendor, I wrote the company’s business plan and pitch deck and raised two rounds of funding - one debt and one Series A. In order to differentiate us from the competition, which included the large pharmacy chains themselves, I restructured our sales and marketing approach to emphasize our patented SaaS product line versus the prevailing enterprise software model. This resulted in a 200% increase in revenue, 50% increase in direct accounts, and a 67% increase in OEM channel partners.

As CEO of MediaBrains I executed a restructuring of this digital media start-up during the dotcom bust of 2000-2002. Despite losing half of our customer base in the downturn, I was able to redesign the organization to be cash flow neutral by consolidating departments and reducing expenses. I also split the company into two separate organizations, one focused on enterprise software and one focused on becoming an ad network. The ad network was eventually sold for $30MM 3.5 years later to Marchex.
