Senior Compliance Officer, Regulatory Enforcement Division
CurrentRegulatory Enforcement Division, Office of Compliance and Field Operations Responsible for ensuring product safety and compliance with the regulations administered by the Commission with the goal of protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury and death from consumer products. •Serves as a senior staff resource to achieve strategic initiatives within the Office of Compliance; evaluates policy, procedural, process, and system improvements; and represents the agency at speaking engagements, contacts with trade associations, industry groups, and with other government agencies. •Conducts investigations of products to determine preliminarily whether they violate Commission regulations; •Coordinates the development of evidence and case development for violative products, and in preparation for litigation and/or civil penalty; •Analyzes and interprets business data to determine compliance with laws and regulations; •Negotiates the terms recalls and other corrective action plans; •Participates in regulatory development and implementation of new regulations to address national safety issues, and in the development of proposed policy and compliance strategies to address those issues; •Provides guidance on technical issues and on the statues and regulations administered by the Commission to internal and external stakeholders; •Serves as key leader on Recall Effectiveness; and •Provides instruction, training, and mentoring for new staff.
