I cofounded the Rocky Mountain Programmers Guild to promote and support excellence and technical growth for programmers at all phases of their career. Here I coach development teams in companies from startup to Fortune 50 companies across a variety of technologies on programming skills, managing technical debt, architecture, as well as Agile and Lean process.I ran several public programming cohorts to provide skill development to practicing programmers. Lastly, I take challenging coding contracts including a rearchitecture job that called for quickly and effectively restructuring an unfamiliar, debt ridden code base to extract swaths of mission critical intellectual property.

I focused primarily on defining architecture direction to target analysis of data that was growing by an order of magnitude a year and on staff development including coaching, training, and retrospectives which lead to marked improvements in team cohesiveness and effectiveness.

I oversaw the product development of ClickFox Experience Analytics with technical leadership in architecture and hiring, and technical staff development. I grew the team by 25% and migrated processes to a Kanban approach reducing work in progress and launched two of the smoothest enterprise releases ClickFox had seen to date. I worked with Product Management and Support to identify highest business value features and kicked off an effort to evolve advanced visualizations of big data analysis.

I lead architecture and implementation of two generations of ClickFox's signature cross-channel analytical tools for analyzing customer experiences across multiple disparate systems. The majority of ClickFox's analysis is performed using these tools, which required complex large data analysis reported to interfaces with short user delay tolerances and utilized multiple grid and cloud computing tools such as GridGain and Greenplum. I also implemented ClickFox's continuous integration tooling and metrics gathering, supported test automation efforts and trained and coached on technical development skills for the product organization. Technologies used included Java, Equinox, Spring, JPA, JDBC, Blaze, MySQL, Postgres, SQLServer, Oracle, Greenplum, GridGain, WebServices, Hudson, Maven, ANT, PDEBuild, FitNesse, Mercurial, and CVS.

Starting out implementing the next generation engine in C++ for C++ parsing and roundtrip engineering for Describe, I also developed visualizations and architecture for Embarcadero's Business Process Modeling application in an Eclipse RCP application using GEF and SWT. On that project, I also worked with the team to develop our skills, applied principles, and processes of software development including Test Driven Development, refactoring, design patterns, SOLID principles and integrated our application with FitNesse for GUI driven automated acceptance testing.Technologies include Java, Eclipse, RCP, GEF, SWT, Visual C++, Perforce, ANT, ANTLR, FitNesse, JUnit, Tom Sawyer, XML

As Technical Lead, I ran a team of 15 for custom order development engagements to most of the world’s largest telecom providers. I successfully delivered integrations between billing systems (Arbor BP) and external data warehouses, inventory management presentations, order processing automation (Arbor OM), workflow management APIs, and productization of similar projects.
